This revolver is built on the small M frame. The bore is in fine shape. It has a six chambered cylinder. The fixed sights a a half-moon front sight forged into the top of the barrel. The rear sight is a pinched grove on the topstrap. the ejector rod has a knurled head that mates with athe spring loaded lug forged into the bottom of the barrel. The trigger is narrow and rounded. The arched hammer has a knurled tip with a perfect firing pin. The cylinder release is the squared, dished, rounded type used from circa 1900 until 1997. The factory hard rubber grip panels show the entwined S&W with the checkering and borders are worn slightly smooth. There is a tiny chip out of the rear corner of the right grip panel. The original blue finish has been worn gray until the blue is only 60%. The mechanics of this revolver work perfectly. The trademark and barrel stampings are still sharp and clear. This revolver was carried for fourty years until the early 1950s by a timber cruiser in the foothills of the N.C. mountains. After he retired it was given to his son-in -law, who sold it to me after the timbwer expert passed away and he needed to replace his tractor.
