This gun is a classic 1911-A1 Government model built as only Colt can, factory-finished in the NM GC model with key enhancements, starting with the factory-tuned, smooth, and reliable Series 70 lockwork, vastly preferred by most shooters over the sluggish triggers of the later Series 80. Accuracy comes from the National Match barrel, crisp trigger, spur hammer, and tight lock up--there is NO (zero) play in the muzzle in battery. The trigger is skeletonized and adjustable for overtravel. The dovetailed, fully adjustable notch rear and blade front target sights produce an excellent sight picture along a raised, grooved top rib. Deep grooves on the front strap and on the straight mainspring housing ensure a firm grip. The extended beavertail, and grip-safety contour positions the hands high for effective control. The rest of the gun is pure, classic Colt. Finish is rich & even black--lustrous semi-gloss on the flats and matte on contours. The dark, figured walnut stocks are checkered in the traditional double-diamond pattern, decorated with the gold Colt medallion. The extractor is internal, and the ejection port is enlarged.
