Manufacturer is Izmash Arms Factory in Izhevsk, Russia. Importer was Russian American Armory in Scottsburg, IN, and the rifle is so marked. Type is gas operated Kalashnikov Semi Automatic Rifle. Chambering is .223 Remington and 5.56x45 NATO interchangeably. Construction is entirely steel metal, with black polymer forend and buttstock. Barrel is 16.3 inch, with six groove 1:9 right hand rifling in its chrome lined bore and chamber. Gas tube has a steel plate cover. Sights are hood protected elevation adjustable, green fiber optic post front, drift adjustable for windage. Rear Sight is conventional 3 position 100 – 300 meter calibrated flip up blade type. This rifle comes with a factory detachable side scope mount topped with a 12 Slot Picatinny Rail. Safety is AK type lever, two position, and mates to the receiver cover on safe position. This rifle comes with its original factory 10 shot magazine. Trigger is .215 smooth faced, and pulls at 7 1/2 pounds with fully 3/4 inch of travel, extensive felt creep and overtravel. Finish is original factory matte black coated metal. Buttstock length of pull is 13 5/8 inches from the trigger face to the end of the hard polymer butt plate. Buttstock has a prounced 2 inch right hand cant. This rifle is Not southpaw friendly at all. Swivel studs are best replaced if a buyer plans to use a sling. Overall length is 37 5/8 inches. Weight empty is 7 pounds, with center of gravity at the front of the magazine. Surface detractions are minimal to moderate on this rifle, faint edge wear and operation wear from the safety lever. We rate it as Excellent in Box, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate; but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this rifle was fired fewer than 400 rounds, no rounds at all for a Saiga. It comes in its original box with English language manual and certification booklet dated from December of 2008. Replacement pricing on this rifle ranges upwards of $1,000 on this venue.
