The Pioneer Arms AK-47 was initially released in the legendary 7.62x39mm cartridge that has been rocking in the AK platform for years but now comes in the common 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge. This opens up the possibility of using a wider range of ammunition. This new production AK is made with a forged trunnion for maximum strength and longevity. The rifle comes with AKM style furniture and sights lending to a wide variety of aftermarket support. The enlarged magazine release is meant for easier mag changes and more positive magazine retention. And to get a classic style of compact rifle is the addition of the under folding This particular model doesn't come with the side rail for the addition of optics. In all this AK rifle is built to give you options for enjoying a classic eastern platform in a western caliber.
