In 1941 The Ithaca Gun a number of M37's to the Springfield Armory for use by the . The guns were in the commercial configuration with hand-checkered butt stocks and were marked with a military inspectors initials, RLB (. Roy ), the flaming bomb ordinance mark, the "P" proof mark and "United States Property" stamped on the receiver and barrel. This gun, serial number 49807, is a 12 gauge with a 30 inch full choked barrel. The gun is all original and unaltered with all of the correct military markings. The gun has several marks on the butt stock and shows some wear on the left side of the receiver, but is in very good overall condition. It is the gun shown on page 48 in Snyder's book, "Ithaca Featherlight Best Gun Going". WW II Military Marked M37's are quite scarce and are greatly sought after by collectors. Must ship to an FFL, C&R ok. Will ship to CA. Three day non-firing and non-disassembly inspection period. Layaway available. Included is a new unused copy of the book "Ithaca Featherlight Best Gun Going" by Walter autographed by the author.
