I call it "The gun that lost the East," since it was the service sidearm of the Soviet Union throughout the Cold War. At present the Russian-made IJ-70 is not being imported into the U.S., having been discontinued in 1996, so what is here in the USA is all we got. You can see from the pictures that it is in near new condition and it has had minimal use, the Russian ones are getting harder to find in this condition. The Russian versions of this pistol are arguably the best of the breed. It comes with the original box and magazine. The made Russian Baikal IJ-70 is not only an interesting piece of Cold War history, it is a well made, reliable, and accurate autoloading pistol that is well suited for home defense or daily carry.
