Made in 1986 in North Haven Connecticut by the original Marlin Firearms Co. before the takeover by Remington which later led to a decline in the quality of this iconic firearm. Barrel carries the famous early "JM" stamp of Marlin to prove its vintage pedigree. The Marlin 336C is recognized by American hunters as one of our top two hunting rifles of all time for its rugged good looks, pinpoint accuracy, superb dependability, light recoil, modest weight for carrying all day in the woods, smooth lever action, and no-hassle side ejection. This gun had fewer than 50 rounds fired through it at the range just after original purchase. It has not been fired since and has been lovingly stored and cared for over these past thirty years in a humidity controlled gun safe. It has a warm and handsomely deep grained American black walnut stock, 20" micro grooved Carbine barrel (the 'C' in 336CS), original Marlin checkered resin butt plate, Tasco Pronghorn scope, ornamented pistol grip, cross bolt Safety (the 'S' in 336CS), and six round magazine.
