This item uses the screw in bolt (crank provided) Gun weighs in around 32 lbs. Tripod is balanced more to the back of the gun than the front. Upon firing simple tilt forward to rest on the end of the barrel release lower from upper unit resting it on the ground. Then using the provided crank you spin out the bolt put shell in the holder and screw it back in. Put lower and upper together assume the position and fire Repeat as often as you care to. Conversion is mounted on a DPMS lower. Model A-15 Although the item was not fired by the previous owner, storage care wasn't the best. Some light surface rust on the tripod.
