Interesting variant of the Enfield grenade launching rifle. This is a No1 mk3 model rifle Chambered in .303 British. Receiver is marked GRI 1950 No1 mk3* on the right side of the receiver. Solid hardwood with no major cracks or damage, one small Arsenal repair noted on the Butt stock. Uncommon banded version of the launching rifle. These rifles were usually wrapped in copper wire and soldered in place. This one uses a system of sheet metal clamps and screws to hold the stock together under the rigorous pressures of launching grenades. Numbers matching on the receiver, bolt, and nose cap. The stock is likely numbered however it is underneath the front sheet metal band and not visible. The front grenade launching attachments spigot is easily removable by loosening the adjustment wheel and removing the clamps. This one appears to take standard U.S. or NATO style ordinance grenades. The bore is bright and shiny with strong Rifling. The action and bolt moves freely and smoothly and has a nice crist trigger pull. The inert ordnance photographed is not included with the rifle.
