The rifle is from a group of new in box/wrapper never fired or messed with examples. We had to pull the paper wrapping off these ourselves. They have been in storage for the last 10-15 years. One of the nicest and cleanset m44 carbines you will find. This one is 1946 dated which means the factory had time to build this one well and nicely finish off the metal work and blueing. War era rifles tend to exhibit very rough machining and refinishing. This one is all numbers matching, has nice clear markings and cartouches on the stock. There is an original sling included. I should have a box full of pouches and will include one with the sale of the rifle. The bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling. There is some dust from long term storage which will clean up easily. As with any military surplus firearm we recommend it be inspected by a qualified gunsmith prior to use.
