We all have favorites, right? But how bout when it comes to GLOCKs? Could one argue that it’s impossible to have a favorite GLOCK given that they’re all virtually the same? As it’s been said, a GLOCK is a GLOCK is a GLOCK.
I believe there is some truth to that impression because aside from size and caliber, all GLOCKs function the same, look the same and in many ways feel the same. There isn’t really that much of a difference from one GLOCK platform to the next. It’s what makes them great. It’s what also makes them ordinary, paradoxically. Given this reality, how then does one pick a favorite GLOCK?
Perhaps I’m over-thinking the question… In any event, I asked Gunny, R. Lee Ermey, what his favorite GLOCKs were and he answered it in a way that was rather insightful, basically, his rather cogent response was it depends on what the task at hand is. Shooting pigs in South Texas: a GLOCK 40. Everyday carry: GLOCK 19. Concealed carry: GLOCK 42. And so on.
I like that answer. And I think it’s the right answer, given my earlier philosophizing. But perhaps you feel differently. Perhaps you have a favorite GLOCK, one that you think should be prized above all else, one that is a clear leader of the pack. If so, please let us know which GLOCK that is.
G19,G36,G22(SIG Conv. Barrel) G42. Love them all. The G43 will be next.
The one in the showcase!
I FINALLY SAW 2-3 COMMENTS ON THE GLOCK 20. I HAVE 5 IN 9/40/45/10, BUT MY FAVORITE IS THE 20C. IT BEING COMPENSATED WITH THE GROVES IN THE SLIDE AND BARREL, IS VERY MUCH FUN TO SHOOT. THE RECOIL IS ABOUT LIKE MY 19. POLYMER GUNS HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED, AND USED BY MANY MFG’S. I ALSO HAVE SPRINGFIELD’S IN 40/45 AND THEY ARE GREAT TO SHOOT ALSO.
I like the Glock 37 GAP. It’s a nice carry pistol with lots of power and fun to Shoot.
My favorite Glock is my first Glock. Purchased a Glock 17 in 1988 and it’s still ticking. Been carrying the same one for 27 yrs.
The best pistol for the user:
1. Accuracy
2. Lowermost barrel jumping
3. Trigger release 6 – 9 mm for double tab
4. Smooth trigger pull
5. Mechanical safety
6. User friendly.
G29
After 4 decades 2 of which I carried Glocks as my main gun, I love the 30″S”, I had the 30 since it came out, and got an S, about 6 months ago, it sleeps next to me. I also keep a G21 mag next to it, and carry a 26 sometimes. The 19, 23, and 26,27, are probably carried most, if I had to guess, Probably the 19 , overall. A 10MM is expensive to shoot, so I still stick with 9 and 45. For me if they aren’t enough you need a rifle.
G-20
My 21 forever !
Ive owned many different models, but my favorite to date is my glock 21 with the authentic 460 Rowland conversion. Hunt or shoot any situation anytime, stays flat when shooting, and kills the 10mm in ballistics.
My G36, everyday and my first gen 17 built in 1986.
Model 20 – light enough, very accurate perfect for us when backpacking in predator country
I think the m-19 is the best all around, everyday Glock. Everyone should have one. I carry the m-26 everyday as my concealed carry. Love them both.
Glock 26, 34, and last but not least. The awesome, very large, very accurate, the new mother of all Glocks, 41. Glock 34 is almost as equally awesome but it has a cut out in the front of the slide. Would prefer it without.
My G23 gen 4 is identical to a G19 (lean and compact) except it shoots 40 S&W (and holds 13+1 of ’em), has a backstrap that fits my hand perfectly, and allows my left hand to drop the mag for fast reload. What’s not to love?
@ 0:24 Gunny said he if he were a cop he would want a 40MM…ahhh, that is one BA round. We used them in the Bofors cannon on the AC130 gunship. Sure would be one hell of a big pistol to shoot that cartridge. 😉 Uoo-Rah Gunny!!!
G21, G36 and the G41. I love the accuracy of the 41 but it is way too big for carrying concealed, so normally, the G21 is what is stashed on me.
I love my tricked out 34, but my favorite is my 23C. It chews up any ammo, is fast, and dead ass accurate. It’s my daily carry duty weapon, and yes I have shot it in total darkness and no I was not “blinded”.
My favorite is Gen 1 model 17, the original!
From my G42 , 30, 19,22,27 I love them all and soon the G35 , 41 and the 40 when I go get them
Glock 23
Glock 22
Gunny wants a 40mm and so do I.
A 40mm GLOCK would be amazing!! A literal hand cannon lol… why get a .40(“) when theres a 40 mm
26 with a 19 mag, 30, 36 depends on my mood, there all great
The Glock Pistol is a great weapon. You can convert a Glock 22 40 s&w and change the barrel for the conversion to shoot 9m rounds. Cost effective too. I love my Glock 22.
My favorite Glock is the one I have in my hand at any given time.
Overall I am partial to the compacts, and full size models. I love my G22 with aftermarket .357 SIG barrel in it – which begs the question of, “Why didn’t you just get a G31 in the first place”? Answer – I could not find one.
I really like my G17 as well, and the G19 is about as good of an all around handgun as could be asked for. No matter what you do – “Get yourself a Glock and lose that nickel plated sissy pistol!” – truer words have not been spoken.
I love all three of my Glock 42s and I own eleven Glocks but the most accurate, my favorite, and the King of Kings is my G30.
I love all three of my Glock 42s and own eleven Glocks but the love of my life, the most accurate, the King of Kings is the G30.
My favorite 2 Glocks are always the same: My current Glock and my next Glock!
S&W M&P 9 Pro. Sorry, no Glocks here………….. 😉
Right on, Brother Bill! S&W M&P 9mm C with Crimson Trace grips, 17 + 1 Hornaday Critical Duty 135 gr Flex Lock – never leave home without one…
Party crashers! Croatia clone wanna be pistols are not Glock models. Poly grip safety: Lol. Thumb safety: lmao. Hope you never grab it under the grip saftey or loose critical time taking the safety off. Diversity is all the buzz so enjoy.
You’re talking about the XD. The M&P is made in America and does not have a grip safety.
The Gen 4/G19 I don’t own yet…
G30/ wife’s G19
My thoughts exactly. I carry my 19, I lived it so much I’m building another. I also have had the pleasure of test firing a 30, it was glorious. I would never get rid of my 19. I sold my .40 but now have two 19’s and want a 30 desperately.
I wish I could afford to have a Glock for every purpose. Until then, I’ll stick with my everyday carry gun, a 12 year old Gen 3 G17 riding in a Blackhawk Serpa. It always gives me under 3″ groups, either single or double tap, and after countless rounds down range has never had a FTF.
Out of all the Glocks I have shot, carried, and owned, my favorite will be the Glock 24C. I still have her and she functions as well as the day I bought her. She is the queen of the safe.
G35
G26
G18
My favorite Glocks are two they haven’t made yet, a Glock 42 in 9mm, and a Glock 38 in .45acp. That would be two awesome concealed carry packages.
I have a Glock 36, then I discovered a Glock 21 4 generation 45, gave it to my favorite gunsmith. A trigger Kit, some of his TLC she does everything right, now I am saving for new Glock 42 , 380
I have a 19, 27 and 42. I love all of them. I carry the 27 during the winter, the 42 during the summer and the 19 is my homestead welcome wagon. Saving for a 40 at the moment. I’d like to have one of each someday. Love my Glocks!!!
The perfect 9mm Glock is the Cz-75.
😉
