"Special Smokeless Steel" It appears that this rifle has been reblued about 50 years ago. Original wood stock with SN inside stock matching SN on tang. Wood stock is solid with light scratches on the left side. The bottom of forearm has a little 1/8" sliver missing. This gun was manufactured in 1927, according to the SN. I think everything is in fine working condition although the rifle has not been fired in at least 45 yrs. It has been well oiled while stored. No rust or pitting. It looks like the wood stock had a clear coating put on it and I see faint marks in the wood stock, probably from being wrapped in a blanket for so many years. The estimated age is 87 yrs.
