Seattle Police Department Winchester Model 12 Riot Gun

authentic. Serial number is 176168,It was issued sometime shortly atter 1917 to the Seattle police PD. Winchester manufactured the riot guns and distributed them to different police departments throughout the US. Each police dept had their set on initials stamped on each stock. This one showing SPD refers to the Seattle PD. The gunsmith indicated the internals of this gun are in very good condition. The screws for the take down are like new he said. The gun has been very well looked atter. It still loads and functions just fine. This is basically a trench gun with a few differences. The differences being a short barrel with a full choke instead of a cylinder bore on the trench guns. It doesn't have the bayonet lugs for mounting a bayonet. They originally came with a 20 inch barrel. It has a smaller profile than a regular Model 12 Winchester. All nickel steel, receiver and barrel so it has a high degree of corrosion resistance. Also has a Very slick action.
