The small panels are new; the Barami itself was issued in the 1970s or 1980s.This 50 year old innovation is useful as ever. Here is the Barami Clip Grip for its original recipient, the Smith & Wesson J Frame Round Butt Revolver, like the model 36 Chief's Special. They will fit a Smith & Wesson J Frame Revolver with a round butt grip frame. Models included are 30, 31, 33, 34, 36, 37, 38, 40, 42, 60, 63, and Air Lite variants like the 351C. Manufacturer was Barami Corporation of Detroit. U.S. Patent number, molded beside the name, was 3397475, issued August 20 of 1968. These are marketed as the Barami Hip Grip. The Barami Corporation is live and well, we are pleased to report. Construction is hard plastic with molded reinforcement ribs inside the panels, secured with blue steel flat head screw and hexagonal nut in the left panel. They are sized well enough to accommodate a Tyler T-Grip adapter. Surface detractions on them are only moderate, contact scouring from their intended purpose, waist band carry. We rate the Barami Clip Grip as Very Good, but the two other panels are new. These grips retain their usefulness, plus, they are period correct for most J frame revolvers manufactured up until 1995, when the magnum frames went into production. Owner can mix and match; Barami or no Barami, since the other set is standard Magna size. We’re offering this vintage revolver accessory combo for only $ 39.00.
