(<em>Photo: Twitter<\/em>)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A lot of politicians have been saying a lot of dumb things after the shooting at a Maryland newspaper Thursday, but Sen. Chris Murphy&#8217;s comment on Twitter might take the cake.<\/p>\n<p>The junior senator from Connecticut basically implied that\u00a0potential killers are being emboldened to take lives because federal lawmakers have not done more to disarm law-abiding citizens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPulling for everyone at the Capital Gazette. Horrible,\u201d Murphy tweeted after news broke of the shooting in Annapolis, Maryland that left five people dead and several others wounded.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So awful that my colleagues still don&#8217;t understand their unconscionable silence has become a green light for would-be shooters, who perceive inaction as endorsement,&#8221; he continued.<\/p>\n<p>Right, because if there&#8217;s anything that gives a determined mass murderer pause &#8212; it&#8217;s not armed resistance &#8212; rather, it&#8217;s another line on a piece of paper regulating this rifle accessory or prohibiting that feature.<\/p>\n<h2>SEE ALSO:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/breaking-armed-resource-officer-stops-maryland-school-shooter\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"murphy-inaction-gun-control-green-light-would-be-shooters\" title=\"Democratic Senator Claims 'Inaction' on Gun Control is 'Green Light' for 'Would-Be Shooters'\" rel=\"bookmark\">Armed Resource Officer Stops Maryland School Shooter<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Puzzling logic because state leaders in Maryland boast about their\u00a0stringent gun laws.\u00a0 There is a sweeping ban on<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/saf-asks-supreme-court-review-maryland-assault-weapons-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"murphy-inaction-gun-control-green-light-would-be-shooters\" title=\"Democratic Senator Claims 'Inaction' on Gun Control is 'Green Light' for 'Would-Be Shooters'\"> so-called &#8220;assault weapons&#8221;<\/a> and a<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gun_laws_in_Maryland\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"murphy-inaction-gun-control-green-light-would-be-shooters\" title=\"Democratic Senator Claims 'Inaction' on Gun Control is 'Green Light' for 'Would-Be Shooters'\"> may-issue concealed carry standard<\/a> that prevents many responsible citizens from exercising their right to keep and bear arms.<\/p>\n<p>Why didn&#8217;t the anti-gun ethos of the Free State work to dissuade the\u00a0deranged stalker, allegedly responsible for the shooting (not going to mention his name), from perpetrating the attack? Because if legislative action infringing on the Second Amendment is an effective deterrent\u00a0to mass killers Maryland\u00a0has that in spades.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Pulling for everyone at the Capital Gazette.
