The Oracle ranges targets out to 500 yards and provides a point of aim.<\/p><\/div>\n

Rifle hunters have long been accustomed to the very latest in modern technology. Between 12X scopes, range-finders, and red dots, hunting with the ol\u2019 powder and ball is almost too easy these days.<\/p>\n

That hasn\u2019t been the case for bow hunters, until now.<\/p>\n

Burris recently announced their brand-new Oracle rangefinding bow sight, a one-of-a-kind device that provides both the exact distance to the target and<\/em> exact point of aim. We got our sweaty little fingers on it at this year\u2019s NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits<\/a>, and it looks like it could be a game-changer.<\/p>\n

The device mounts to the bow in the shooter\u2019s line of sight, and the shooter aims by aligning the rear peep sight with the green light that appears in the rangefinder\u2019s circle. To calibrate, the shooter first sights in the Oracle at 20 yards and two farther distances.<\/p>\n

\"Burris<\/a>

The rear peep sight eliminates bow grip torque and the need for a string peep sight. It also improves visibility in low light.<\/p><\/div>\n

Once the device has calculated the trajectory curve, shooters simply aim the Oracle at the target and press the activation button to determine the range, which appears on the display. The device then calculates trajectory and moves the green dot<\/a> up or down in the circle.<\/p>\n

The Burris rep demonstrated for us, and the Oracle appeared to calculate the range correctly. Only more testing can verify the accuracy of its trajectory calculations, but given Burris\u2019 reputation, the Oracle likely works as advertised.<\/p>\n

In the event that the device malfunctions on a big hunt, the Oracle also includes a 20-yard fixed pin.<\/p><\/div>\n

The rangefinder is constructed entirely of aluminum, and the computer can store two different trajectory curves to compensate for different arrows or draw weights. It\u2019s also right or left hand compatible, water resistant, and can accommodate arrow speeds between 200 and 400 fps.<\/p>\n

Burris has long been a leader in range-finding technology, and they\u2019ve applied their expertise to this cutting-edge bow sight.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Oracle can detect reflective targets up to 500 yards away and deer up to 200 yards away.<\/p>\n
