Honor Defense<\/a> this week announced a voluntary upgrade for its popular Honor Guard pistol following concerns that the single-stack carry gun isn’t \u201cdrop safe.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRecent events indicate that handling an Honor Guard pistol beyond U.S.A. safety standards by dropping or striking the firearm with a hammer may cause an unintentional discharge,\u201d said the Georgia-based company in a press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a result, Honor Defense has developed an upgrade to the Honor Guard striker assembly (within the slide),\u201d it continued.<\/p>\n

Current owners of Honor Guard pistols are encouraged to visit the website<\/a> and follow the directions in the\u201d Upgrade Section,\u201d which will go live on Jan. 21, 2018.<\/p>\n
