Yvonda “Bonnie” Gatens of Putnam County, West Virginia describes herself as a “tough old lady.”<\/p>\n

Early Christmas Eve morning, she proved why that shoe fits. A would-be home invader was prying open her bedroom window.<\/p>\n

Instead of cowering in fear, she took action. Gatens called 911 and retrieved her gun.\u00a0 Not wanting to see what this unwelcome guest had in store for her, she confronted\u00a0the suspect before he got inside.<\/p>\n

“I told him ‘you’re going to die’ and he fell over to the side,” Gatens explained to WSAZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The suspect fled the scene.\u00a0 When police arrived, they searched the area but to no avail.<\/p>\n

Authorities are still investigating.\u00a0 In the meantime, Gatens has a message for the perp if he chooses to come back for another visit.<\/p>\n

“If you come in here, it’s going to be you or me, and I’ll see to it that it won’t be me!” Gatens said.<\/p>\n
