Nancy Pelosi got caught lying about national concealed carry reciprocity.<\/p>\n

When the House passed the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act\u00a0(H.R. 38)<\/a>, she laid down this whopper on Twitter:<\/p>\n

\u201cInviting violent criminals to carry concealed<\/a> weapons doesn\u2019t save lives. Inviting domestic abusers<\/a> to carry concealed weapons doesn\u2019t save lives. Inviting convicted stalkers to carry concealed weapons doesn\u2019t save lives. Yet the @HouseGOP just voted to do exactly that.\u201d<\/p>\n

This nonsense caused such a stir that the Washington Post factcheckers<\/a> had to weigh in.\u00a0 After examing the facts, they awarded Pelosi with Three Pinocchios.\u00a0 In layman’s terms, she’s full of it.<\/p>\n

Should we expect anything less from this California Democrat? That’s about par for the course. After being called to the carpet, via a spokesperson, Pelosi blamed Everytown for Gun Safety for the misinformation.<\/p>\n

No surprise there.\u00a0 As I pointed out in a recent\u00a0article<\/a>, Bloomberg’s group of anti-gunners have been out and about claiming that H.R. 38 forces<\/em> states to let wife beaters carry guns.\u00a0 Can you imagine that?<\/p>\n

As if there was a part of the legislation that read something like, SEC. 407 AUTHORIZATIONS FOR DOMESTIC ABUSERS (a) states must allow anyone who slaps their spourse around to carry concealed firearms\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

That claim is so grossly misleading it’s almost laughable.\u00a0 I say “almost laughable,” because the problem is some bird brains actually believe it.\u00a0 Cough.\u00a0 Cough. (One of which happens to be the minority leader of the freakin’ House of Representatives.)<\/p>\n

Federal law<\/a> already prohibits domestic abusers and violent criminals and convicted stalkers from possessing firearms.\u00a0 Concealed Carry Reciprocity does NOTHING to change that!<\/p>\n

Anyways, after calling Pelsoi’s statement “so over the top and exaggerated,” the factcheckers ended on a sanguine note.<\/p>\n

“One can have a respectful political debate, raising the issue of a lower common denominator for concealed-weapons permits, without accusing the other side of voting to let violent criminals and stalkers have guns,” they wrote.<\/p>\n
