All I can say is that in Texas, at least we have the opportunity to have concealed carry,\u201d Ken Paxton said in an interview Sunday with <a href=\"https:\/\/insider.foxnews.com\/2017\/11\/05\/texas-attorney-general-church-shooting-going-happen-again\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"texas-attorney-general-wants-armed-security-churches\" title=\"Texas Attorney General Wants Armed Security in Churches\">Fox News.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd so if it\u2019s a place where somebody has the ability to carry, there\u2019s always the opportunity that gunman will be taken out before he has the opportunity to kill very many,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>According to authorities, a good guy with a gun did intervene during the shooting likely saving lives and preventing more carnage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs he [the suspect] exited the church, a local resident grabbed his rifle and engaged that suspect,&#8221;\u00a0said Freeman Martin, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, at a press conference Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The suspect dropped his rifle, which was a Ruger AR assault-type rifle, and fled from the church&#8221; [in an SUV], Major Martin added.<\/p>\n<h2>SEE ALSO:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/obama-calls-gun-control-less-6-hours-texas-shooting\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"texas-attorney-general-wants-armed-security-churches\" title=\"Texas Attorney General Wants Armed Security in Churches\">Obama Calls for Gun Control Less than 6 Hours after Texas Shooting<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>The armed citizen would then elicit the help of a nearby motorist and pursue the fleeing suspect.\u00a0 After a high-speed chase, the suspect crashed his car into a ditch.\u00a0 The two good Samaritans pulled up to the scene. And the one with the gun held the man at gunpoint until police arrived.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect died of a gunshot wound.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not clear whether it was self-inflicted or a result of the gunfight with the armed citizen.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">In America, what protects you from being shot to death by a stranger who happens to be the mood to kill people?
