Ryan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2017\/10\/03\/gun-silencer-bill-shelved-after-las-vegas-shooting-paul-ryan-says.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"ryan-hearing-protection-act\" title=\"Ryan on Hearing Protection Act: 'The Bill is Not Scheduled Now'\">told reporters<\/a>. &#8220;I don&#8217;t know when it&#8217;s going to be scheduled.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The House Natural Resources Subcommittee passed the SHARE Act back in September.\u00a0 Many predicted a full House vote on the legislation as soon as this week or next.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to deregulating suppressors via the language of the HPA, the SHARE Act contains all of the following provisions per the NRA-ILA:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Securing the future of hunting, fishing, and recreational shooting by increasing access to federal public lands.<\/li>\n<li>Reforming of the Firearm Owners\u2019 Protection Act (FOPA), which protects the lawful, legal transport of unloaded firearms.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening protections for carrying firearms on land managed by the Army Corps of Engineers.<\/li>\n<li>Removing the undefined and antiquated \u201csporting purposes test\u201d, which opens the door to arbitrary ammunition bans.<\/li>\n<li>Returning wildlife management of the gray wolf back to states adversely affected by rising populations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is not the first time this legislation has been delayed.\u00a0 A shooting back in June at a GOP congressional baseball practice that left five people wounded, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA), also stalled its progress just as the bill was about to be reviewed by the\u00a0Federal Lands Subcommittee.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan said that the focus of the House will be on passing the fiscal budget for 2018.<\/p>\n<h2>SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/bump-stocks-call-ban-begun\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"ryan-hearing-protection-act\" title=\"Ryan on Hearing Protection Act: 'The Bill is Not Scheduled Now'\">The Call to Ban Bump Stocks Has Begun<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, opponents of suppressor deregulation have leveraged Sunday&#8217;s shooting in an attempt to kill the bill.<\/p>\n<p>Hillary Clinton is leading the charge, as mentioned in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/hillary-clinton-leads-charge\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"ryan-hearing-protection-act\" title=\"Ryan on Hearing Protection Act: 'The Bill is Not Scheduled Now'\">previous GunsAmerica article<\/a>, \u00a0She took to Twitter on Monday morning to begin fearmongering about suppressors.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The crowd fled at the sound of gunshots,&#8221; wrote Clinton. &#8220;Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>No word yet from the National Rifle Association on what it plans to do to keep the SHARE Act alive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;That bill is not scheduled now,&#8221;
