Walther Arms is issuing a product recall on their new CCP or Concealed Carry Pistol. The company discovered a flaw with the drop safety mechanism. Given the serious nature of this kind of problem, CCP owners should contact Walther immediately.<\/p>\n

“We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause, and want to thank you for your patience and cooperation,” said Walther in a statement<\/a>. “We greatly appreciate your loyalty to Walther products.”<\/p>\n

“Please do not load or fire your Walther CCP pistol and contact us immediately to arrange to have your pistol upgraded free of charge.”<\/p>\n

Affected pistols are NOT drop safe with or without the manual thumb safety engaged. Owners of CCP pistols should immediately stop using these guns, unload them and call or email Walther for service.<\/p>\n

Walther customer service is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Monday through Friday at 866-503-3389. Customers can also email Walther at ccprecall@waltherarms.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To know if your pistol is affected by the recall check the magwell. If there is a milled dot on the back of the magwell the pistol has the upgrade and does not need service. If the magazine well has no markings or you are unsure if the pistol is affected, contact Walther customer service as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

If your CCP is affected by the recall Walther will send you instructions on how to return the pistol, free of charge through FedEx. As a precaution, all pistols must be unloaded before shipping.<\/p>\n

The turnaround time for repairs will take about 3 weeks.<\/p>\n

The CCP was introduced in 2015. It uses an innovated gas-delayed recoil operating system for reduced felt recoil with a light, easy-to-rack slide.<\/p>\n

Unlike many single-stack subcompacts chambered for 9mm Luger, the CCP does not have the snap and recoil inherent to small handguns. This makes the CCP an appealing product for recoil-sensitive shooters looking for something different.<\/p>\n

These pistols are well-received and affordably-priced, so it’s alarming to find out that some can have a serious flaw.\u00a0 It’s important that all gun owners get the word out — these pistols can pose a serious risk to owners and bystanders.<\/p>\n

We have not found reports of any actual real-world problems but because of the nature of the flaw, it’s important for all CCP owners to return their pistols to Walther for service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
