This is one legitimate piece of equipment.<\/p><\/div>\n

Steiner has made very high-end optics for the military for a very long time, but I haven\u2019t seen a lot from them on the civilian side. That ends now. The latest offering isn\u2019t likely to be featured at your local Cabela\u2019s, but it is available if you can stack up enough coins.<\/p>\n

The M830R is the legendary Steiner binoculars, with a range finder built-in. Not some repurposed golf range finder either, this bad boy reaches six klicks!<\/p>\n

Never mind shooting, that is far enough for artillery and mortars. With that level of hardware combined with Steiner’s clarity of glass, anything you can hit with a rifle should be child’s play to range.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not all it does, though. This model also has a Bluetooth link directly to your Kestrel running Applied Ballistics software and it will update your firing solution as you range. Wow! It’s almost like cheating, and I very much approve of that message. The price tag is hefty at around $10,000, but this is a very serious set of gear.<\/p>\n

DBAL<\/h2>\n
\"Steiner<\/a>

DBAL stands for Dual Beam Aiming Lasers. \u00a0Civilian\u00a0DBAL goes for $1,099.<\/p><\/div>\n

Not new from Steiner this year, but something we will be spending more time on in our\u00a0reviews, is the DBAL (Dual Beam Aiming Lasers) series of laser aiming devices.<\/p>\n

Before SHOT, I had a chance to train some Police Officers that have the DBAL issued. I was very impressed with the clarity and focus of the laser, and the slim profile of the unit. There is a lot to like in this package, expect a full review coming soon.<\/p>\n
