(<em>Photo: Wikipedia<\/em>)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This week, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (R-NC) introduced the <a href=\"https:\/\/bearingarms.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Concealed-Carry-Reciprocity-Act-of-2017-Rep.-Hudson.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"national-concealed-carry-reciprocity-bill-introduced\" title=\"National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill Introduced!\">Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With 58 cosponsors, bipartisan support and the backing of many pro-gun organizations, the bill seeks to ensure that law-abiding citizens who are licensed or permitted to carry in their home state, can also carry when traveling around the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Second Amendment right doesn\u2019t disappear when we cross state lines, and this legislation guarantees that,\u201d said Hudson in a <a href=\"https:\/\/hudson.house.gov\/press-releases\/hudson-introduces-national-concealed-carry-reciprocity-bill\/#.WG0sYbYrL_R\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"national-concealed-carry-reciprocity-bill-introduced\" title=\"National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill Introduced!\">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 is a common sense solution to a problem too many Americans face,\u201d he continued. \u201cIt will provide law-abiding citizens the right to conceal carry and travel freely between states without worrying about conflicting state codes or onerous civil suits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The bill, if passed, will do all of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that valid concealed carry permits issued in one state are valid for carrying concealed handguns in other states that recognize their own resident\u2019s right to concealed carry;<\/li>\n<li>Allow those from constitutional carry states the ability to carry in other states that recognize their own resident\u2019s right to concealed carry;<\/li>\n<li>Put the burden of proof clearly on the state to show that an individual carrying concealed did not comply with the law, thus protecting law-abiding gun owners from onerous civil suits;<\/li>\n<li>Provide legal protections against states that violate the intent of this bill, making attorney\u2019s fees and damages available to victorious plaintiffs in civil suits, as well as to defendants who prevail in criminal cases; and<\/li>\n<li>Allow individuals who are carrying concealed to do so in the National Park System, National Wildlife Refuge System, and on lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management, Army Corps of Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">As a member of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"national-concealed-carry-reciprocity-bill-introduced\" title=\"National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill Introduced!\">@realDonaldTrump<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SecondAmendment?src=hash\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"national-concealed-carry-reciprocity-bill-introduced\" title=\"National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill Introduced!\">#SecondAmendment<\/a> Coalition, I look forward to getting my <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ConcealedCarry?src=hash\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"national-concealed-carry-reciprocity-bill-introduced\" title=\"National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill Introduced!\">#ConcealedCarry<\/a> bill across the finish line. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/IAoDRqWpc4\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"national-concealed-carry-reciprocity-bill-introduced\" title=\"National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill Introduced!\">pic.twitter.com\/IAoDRqWpc4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Richard Hudson (@RepRichHudson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepRichHudson\/status\/816384401965780992\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"national-concealed-carry-reciprocity-bill-introduced\" title=\"National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill Introduced!\">January 3, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It\u2019s important to note that the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 does not tell the states that they have to adopt a certain concealed-carry issuing standard (e.g.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Concealed_carry_in_the_United_States\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"national-concealed-carry-reciprocity-bill-introduced\" title=\"National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill Introduced!\">May Issue versus Shall Issue versus Constitutional Carry<\/a>).
