{"id":63802,"date":"2016-09-21T15:33:28","date_gmt":"2016-09-21T19:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/?p=63802"},"modified":"2016-09-21T15:33:28","modified_gmt":"2023-08-20T06:14:52","slug":"check-latest-ad-nra-spending-5-million-disseminate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/check-latest-ad-nra-spending-5-million-disseminate\/","title":{"rendered":"Check Out the Latest Clinton Attack Ad the NRA is Spending $5 Million to Disseminate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few weeks ago I wrote an article titled, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/help-nra-create-ultimate-clinton-attack-ad\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"check-latest-ad-nra-spending-5-million-disseminate\" title=\"Check Out the Latest Clinton Attack Ad the NRA is Spending $5 Million to Disseminate\">Help the NRA Create the Ultimate Clinton Attack Ad<\/a>,\u201d and solicited your ideas to help the nation&#8217;s gun lobby create an effective ad that would really speak to voters on the fence about which candidate to get behind come November.<\/p>\n<p>Well, I\u2019m not sure if the NRA even saw that article or used our suggestions, but they did produce a new ad, one that I believe is more effective than the last one (see new ad above). Is the ad a new idea or a novel approach to show how\u00a0Clinton is an existential threat to our 2A rights? No. I feel as though I\u2019ve seen the same type of ad before, I just can place exactly where. But despite its unoriginality, I think it\u2019ll be effective.<\/p>\n<p>The ad, a 30-second TV spot known as \u201cNightstand,\u201d shows a woman sleeping alone in her bedroom when she hears glass shatter, the ominous sound of an intruder breaking into her home. The voiceover says that the average police response time is 11 minutes. But that\u2019s too late. She has a firearm by her bedside, but if Hillary\u2019s elected she can via Supreme Court appointees take away that woman\u2019s right to self-defense.<\/p>\n<p>The voiceover ends with, \u201cDon\u2019t let Hillary leave you protected with nothing but a phone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Simple. To the point. Effective. As I<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/trumps-not-wrong-clinton-wants-to-destroy-2a\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"check-latest-ad-nra-spending-5-million-disseminate\" title=\"Check Out the Latest Clinton Attack Ad the NRA is Spending $5 Million to Disseminate\"> wrote earlier this week<\/a>, Hillary does want to destroy the Second Amendment. The ad underscores that message. She\u2019s openly criticized the landmark 2008 Heller decision, which affirmed one\u2019s individual right to keep and bear arms and struck down the D.C. ban on handguns. She\u2019s indicated that an<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/clinton-on-confiscation-its-worth-considering\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"check-latest-ad-nra-spending-5-million-disseminate\" title=\"Check Out the Latest Clinton Attack Ad the NRA is Spending $5 Million to Disseminate\"> Australian-style mandatory buyback<\/a> should be something the U.S. should consider. She\u2019s supported repealing a law protecting gun manufacturers from frivolous lawsuits, which if repealed, could potentially bankrupt the entire firearms industry. In a nutshell, Clinton\u2019s given support to almost every anti-gun policy measure and ploy out there. She is a gun-grabber through and through.<\/p>\n<p>Spending $5 million on this particular ad buy, the NRA\u2019s fourth and largest ad buy of the 2016 presidential cycle, the spot will appear on national cable as well as regional broadcast in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe stakes in this election could not be higher. The American people cannot afford to elect a president who doesn\u2019t support their Second Amendment freedoms,\u201d said Chris W. Cox, chairman, NRA-PVF. \u201cHillary Clinton is an elitist, out-of-touch hypocrite who believes in one set of rules for her, and a different set of rules for the rest of us. This ad underscores that fact. Law-abiding Americans should not have a president who would leave them defenseless.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf ever there were a time to do everything possible to protect the Second Amendment, this is it. If elected, Hillary Clinton would work to eliminate our constitutional freedoms, \u201d Cox added.<\/p>\n<p>What are your thoughts on this latest ad? Do you believe its effective?
