Massachusetts attorney general Maura Healey is finding it difficult to ban a weapon she doesn\u2019t understand.<\/p>\n

After announcing<\/a> last month her unilateral plan to ban \u201cassault weapons\u201d in her state, Healey assured WGBH News<\/a> that everyone knows exactly what she means by the term.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe could not be more explicit,\u201d she said. \u201cThe law and our enforcement does not apply to pistols, does not apply to handguns, does not apply to any number of weapons that are already out there, available for purchase. Contrary to what the governor has suggested, there\u2019s not confusion about this. There\u2019s no lack of clarity about this.\u201d<\/p>\n

After all, what could possibly be confusing about a ban on weapons with actions \u201csubstantially similar<\/a>\u201d to AR-15s and AK-47s?<\/p>\n

A lot, it turns out, because despite her claims of absolute clarity, Healey\u2019s office still felt the need to release this helpful list of \u201cGuns That Are Not Assault Weapons<\/a>\u201d:<\/p>\n
