Jenna Fischer is supporting a new cause. \u00a0Gun control. \u00a0Who is Jenna Fischer? \u00a0She played a role on an American television show called “The Office.” \u00a0The show is no longer on the air. \u00a0But now Ms. Fischer supposedly acts in movies.<\/p>\n

All things considered, acting is a great way to make a living. \u00a0It’s a rather easy job. \u00a0People hand you scripts, you memorize the pages, parrot the lines in front of a camera, and then collect a paycheck. \u00a0Easy peasy. \u00a0As an actor, you don’t have to think much. \u00a0Just memorize and recite. \u00a0Memorize and recite.<\/p>\n

I think that’s why actors make such great gun-control\u00a0activists. \u00a0They can regurgitate anti-gun platitudes without ever questioning their veracity. They can spout half-truths with a straight face because they aren’t compelled to think critically about what it is they are actually saying.<\/p>\n

Fischer seems to fall into this camp. \u00a0How can I make that assumption? \u00a0Well, while working on a movie in London, she was bombarded with questions on America’s gun culture. \u00a0Below, you’ll see how she responded.<\/p>\n

“They would ask me, \u2018Is it really true, can you just go into a store and buy a gun? Why? Why do you allow this? Aren\u2019t you scared?\u2019 I explained the Second Amendment and tried to answer their questions, but as the reports increased, I became more unnerved by what felt like an epidemic of violence in our country that didn’t seem to affect other countries that have been exposed to the same movies and video games,” she told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> before attending the Brady Center’s annual Bear Awards on May 4 at the Four Seasons Los Angeles. “I started to investigate why that may be.”<\/p>\n

When a European asks you “Aren’t you scared?” The correct answer is,\u00a0“Aren’t you? Did you not witness the Paris attacks? In America, we have guns so we can protect ourselves. In Europe, you have nothing! \u00a0You should be the ones living in fear. \u00a0You are helpless.”<\/p>\n

Instead of answering in that manner,\u00a0Fischer began to “investigate” by talking to the “very moderate, responsible and comprehensive” (her words) Brady Center. \u00a0Ugh. \u00a0Her very description of the Brady Center shows that she did not vet the organization but instead bought into their playbook hook, line, and sinker.<\/p>\n

I mean, going to the Brady Center for information on guns is like consulting with Jesse Jackson to learn about race relations. \u00a0It’s absurd. \u00a0Everything the Brady Bunch says and promotes is biased against one’s Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.<\/p>\n

So, Fischer walked away from the meeting with the Brady Bunch with some real doozies. \u00a0For example, in the same interview with The Hollywood Reporter she echoed the stale claim that<\/a> “40 percent of all gun sales have no background checks, so if you\u2019re a terrorist, you can just come to America and buy a gun on the Internet,” and that “a lot of crime guns on our street that could be off our street if we shut down these bad-apple gun dealers.”<\/p>\n

Just to be clear, The Washington Post’s fact-checking team gave <\/a>the 40 percent figure two \u2018Pinocchios,’ which implies \u201csignificant omissions and\/or exaggerations.” And Newsweek published an article earlier this year detailing how criminals get their guns<\/a>, noting that “criminals typically do not buy their guns at a store” and that “while there are scofflaw dealers who sometimes make under-the-counter deals, that is by no means the norm.”<\/p>\n

In other words,\u00a0Fischer’s script is bunk. \u00a0It’s nonsense. \u00a0That’s because it comes from an organization that ignores facts to promote a gun-grabbing agenda. \u00a0Sadly,\u00a0Fischer does not realize this. \u00a0She’s not bothered to research or fact-check the script she was given. Instead, like a good parrot, she just repeats the lines. An actor, through and through.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
