{"id":55834,"date":"2016-04-08T18:59:45","date_gmt":"2016-04-08T22:59:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/?p=55834"},"modified":"2016-04-08T18:59:45","modified_gmt":"2023-08-19T14:27:54","slug":"peter-pan-alice-in-wonderland-accidentally-shot-in-brady-campaign-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/peter-pan-alice-in-wonderland-accidentally-shot-in-brady-campaign-video\/","title":{"rendered":"Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland Accidentally Shot in Brady Campaign PSAs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an attempt to perhaps broaden the appeal of firearms, the National Rifle Association via its NRA Family website is reimagining fairy tales, where the details of the stories are amended to include guns.<\/p>\n<p>So far, or example, NRA Family has recently published &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrafamily.org\/articles\/2016\/1\/13\/little-red-riding-hood-has-a-gun\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"peter-pan-alice-in-wonderland-accidentally-shot-in-brady-campaign-video\" title=\"Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland Accidentally Shot in Brady Campaign PSAs\">Little Red Riding Hood (Has A Gun)<\/a>&#8221; and &#8220;Hansel and Gretel (Have Guns).\u201d To give you a feel for how they&#8217;ve revamped these classic tales, here is an excerpt from the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrafamily.org\/articles\/2016\/3\/17\/hansel-and-gretel-have-guns\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"peter-pan-alice-in-wonderland-accidentally-shot-in-brady-campaign-video\" title=\"Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland Accidentally Shot in Brady Campaign PSAs\">Little Red Riding Hood (Has a Gun)<\/a>\u201d story:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The wolf leaned in, jaws open wide, then stopped suddenly. Those big ears heard the unmistakable sound of a shotgun\u2019s safety being clicked off. Those big eyes looked down and saw that grandma had a scattergun aimed right at him. He realized that Grandmother hadn\u2019t been backing away from him; she had been moving towards her shotgun to protect herself and her home.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Well, it didn\u2019t take long for anti-gunners to fire back. <a href=\"https:\/\/GenerationLockdown.com\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"peter-pan-alice-in-wonderland-accidentally-shot-in-brady-campaign-video\" title=\"Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland Accidentally Shot in Brady Campaign PSAs\">GenerationLockdown.com<\/a>, a student group of the Brady Campaign, created several videos that depict various fairy tale characters being accidentally killed by handguns.<\/p>\n<p>In the Brady versions, Alice in Wonderland accidentally shoots herself and Peter Pan is shot, accidentally, after flying into the home of the Darling children.<\/p>\n<p>Each PSA includes a voiceover, saying, &#8220;Over one-third of all American households have a gun. Ask your neighbor: Is there a gun where they play? Asking saves kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So, what are your thoughts of the NRA&#8217;s reimagined stories?
