Hi-Lux Replicates Classic Glass<\/h2>\n

A rack of old school.<\/p><\/div>\n

SHOT Show is huge.\u00a0 Between appointments I try to walk the floor and look for stuff that catches my eye \u2014 and hopefully yours when it gets written up and posted here at GunsAmerica. This is one of those finds.<\/p>\n

I was walking the aisles down in the far reaches of the basement when I looked over and saw what looked to be an old M40 Marine Sniper Rifle. And it was. I had stumbled upon the Hi-Lux Scope booth.<\/p>\n

Hi-Lux<\/a> had a number of cool vintage or reproduction rifles displayed with some of their historic optics mounted. A lot of these scopes are branded as William Malcolm. Check out the photos below for the scopes they had displayed.<\/p>\n

The lighting isn’t the greatest at SHOT Show, and it’s even more spotty in the basement. But even in the crappy indoor light, the optics on these scopes where very bright and clear.\u00a0 My wheels are turning on a fun historic or retro build that could be done with some of these. Hipster rifles!<\/p>\n

William Malcolm 6x Long Scope. This would look slick on a brass Henry, it looked good on the Sharps too. MSRP $439.<\/p><\/div>\n

Old school rings and mounts on the 6x and Sharps.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Octogon<\/a>

Octogon barrel and a scope that is almost as long.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"This<\/a>

This is the one that caught my attention. A new version of the USMC-adopted Redfield scope on an M40. MSRP $419.<\/p><\/div>\n

[\/one_half_last][one_half]<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a>

The Hi-Lux version of the old Redfield was mounted to an original M40 sniper rifle which is a bull barreled Remington 700 in .308.<\/p><\/div>\n

It even comes in the original, albeit ugly, green!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"8x<\/a>

8x USMC-style scope mounted on a Springfield 1903. It was this style of scope that Carlos Hathcock used in Vietnam. MSRP $549<\/p><\/div>\n
