I know, I know, I mentioned it last week<\/a>, but I can\u2019t help myself from bringing it up again. Obama once told the American people that he would not take our guns. Remember?<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you all go home and you\u2019re talking to your buddies and you say, ah \u2018He wants to take my gun away.\u2019 You\u2019ve heard it here, I\u2019m on television so everybody knows it. I believe in the Second Amendment. I believe in people\u2019s lawful right to bear arms. I will not take your shotgun away. I will not take your rifle away. I won\u2019t take your handgun away,\u201d said Obama, during a campaign stop in a Lebanon, Virginia in 2008.<\/p>\n

But now, before he leaves office at the end of 2016, it\u2019s priority number one on his to-do list! He is hoping to disarm America!<\/p>\n

Recently, Obama sat down with GQ Magazine for an interview<\/a>, and was asked if gun control would be a \u201cdominant issue of year eight,\u201d Obama said, \u201cI hope so.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have this weird habit in this culture of mourning and, you know, 48, 72 hours of wall-to-wall coverage, and then\u2026suddenly we move on,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd I will do everything I can to make sure that there\u2019s a sustained attention paid to this thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Obama went on to talk about his executive actions, noting that while some of them were carried out, others were stymied by the nation\u2019s gun lobby.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, keep in mind that after Sandy Hook, we put forward 23 executive actions. So we haven\u2019t been asleep at the switch in terms of executive actions that we\u2019ve tried,\u201d said the president. \u201cThere are maybe a few more that had to be scrubbed by lawyers because, essentially, with every executive action, we can count on it being challenged by somebody in Congress or, in this case, the NRA.\u201d<\/p>\n

Obama then went on to imply that our problem with violence is a product of the number of guns in the country, not the fact that we have drug cartels and gangs and a woeful mental health care system and a suicide problem (two-thirds of gun deaths are self-inflicted).<\/p>\n

\u201cThe main thing that I\u2019ve been trying to communicate over the last several of these horrific episodes is that, contrary to popular belief, Americans are not more violent than people in other developed countries,\u201d said Obama. \u201cBut they have more deadly weapons to act out their rage, and that\u2019s the only main variable that you see between the U.S. and these other countries.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Obama\u2019s mind, more guns equal more crime. Yet, if that were the case, he\u2019d have to explain the negative correlation between the rise in gun ownership (coupled with the expiration of Bill Clinton\u2019s ban on those evil, black scary rifles) and the drop in violent crime, property crime and the gun homicide rate. That\u2019s correct. While America\u2019s been gunning up over the past decade with more \u201cmilitary style\u201d rifles, there has been a uniform drop in crime.<\/p>\n

Bottom line: Obama doesn\u2019t know what the hell he is talking about. And, he\u2019s hoping to take one last swing at the Second Amendment before hands over the reins to Hillary (I\u2019m desperately hoping she doesn\u2019t win, but I have a bad feeling about it).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
