That&#8217;s down from a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rasmussenreports.com\/public_content\/politics\/current_events\/gun_control\/most_voters_oppose_only_government_having_guns\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"rasmussen-reports-most-say-no-to-federal-control-of-guns\" title=\"Rasmussen Reports: Most Say No to Federal Control of Guns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> high of 38% in Decembe<\/a>r. Slightly more (36%) believe gun ownership is a state government responsibility, while 18% say local governments should have the final say. Twelve percent (12%) aren\u2019t sure. (To see survey question wording, click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rasmussenreports.com\/public_content\/politics\/questions\/pt_survey_questions\/september_2015\/questions_gun_control_september_20_21_2015\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"rasmussen-reports-most-say-no-to-federal-control-of-guns\" title=\"Rasmussen Reports: Most Say No to Federal Control of Guns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The national survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on September 20-21, 2015 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +\/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Fieldwork for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC .
