One of their readers, Oneifbyland1776, sent them this message about an older WEC fight:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>So, I\u2019m flipping through the channels tonight and I stopped at MSG+ to watch a World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) event for a few minutes. I\u2019m not really a fan, but every once in a while, I stop and watch for a few minutes. As I\u2019m watching, I notice one of the fighter\u2019s shorts keeps getting blurred out anytime he faces the camera\u2026so, I get to wondering, what the heck could he have on his shorts that would be so offensive that even an Extreme Cagefighting event would have to blur it out\u2026so, I do some searching and low and behold, this is what I find . . .<\/p>\n<p>Fighter Rob McCullough is sponsored by GunsAmerica.com\u2026and that was just too much for MSG+ to show on TV in between the pictures of the bloody faces as the two fighters beat the crap out of each other\u2026that\u2019s apparently okay, but an advertising for GunsAmerica is just too far over the line.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Well said! To clarify, the reason our GunsAmerica ad was blurred out was because of a deal the UFC made with Fox back in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Fox gave the UFC a bundle of cash, reportedly the seven-year deal was worth upwards of $90 million, for broadcasting rights. But as part of the agreement, Fox <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssfblog.com\/immediate-action-needed-fox-bans-firearms-and-ammunition-advertisements\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"gunsamerica-sponsorship-blurred-out-on-world-extreme-cagefighting\" title=\"GunsAmerica Sponsorship Blurred Out on World Extreme Cagefighting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">decreed,<\/a> \u201cabsolutely no firearms, ammo, hunting or knife companies will be permitted as sponsors in any Zuffa-promoted events.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zuffa is the parent company for both the UFC and WEC.
