An Atlanta Georgia woman who was charged with shooting her four-year-old son waived her right to court Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

Patricia Todd allegedly shot her child in the torso while the two were in their University Avenue apartment complex. <\/p>\n

Responding paramedics found the boy in one of the bedrooms, a gunshot wound to the stomach. <\/p>\n

Todd was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, tampering with evidence and cruelty to children. <\/p>\n

Neighbors were shocked to learn of the tragic event, though none claimed to have heard the gunshot. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s shocking because stuff doesn\u2019t go on in this neighborhood like this,\u201d said neighbor Belinda Weems.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a sweet little boy, just as sweet as he could be,\u201d said neighbor Helen Gary.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s been no indication as of yet as to how the mother obtained the firearm, or if she has any history of mental illness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
