(<em>Photo: WIBW<\/em>)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A Topeka, Kansas, concealed carrier drew down on a pair of armed robbers, stopping the crime and saving the day. And it\u2019s all thanks to a new gun law that allows citizens to carry a concealed firearm without a permit.<\/p>\n<p>Joey Tapley, 24, was inside the Academy Sports and Outdoors store when two masked teens stormed in and scooped several rifles and some petty cash. Tapley waited until he had the upper hand, then pursued the crooks as they fled from the store. After some verbal Judo, Tapley convinced the robbers that the best course of action would be for them to drop the stolen guns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI told him to drop the gun man, mine is loaded, just drop the gun,\u201d Tapley recounted. \u201cWe made eye contact for a second or two and he dropped two guns and ran.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Responding police officers quickly apprehended the suspects and booked them into the Juvenile Center on charges of assault, burglary, and robbery. A female was also arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.<\/p>\n<p>But none of this would have been possible if it weren\u2019t for Governor Brownback\u2019s approval of a new law that allows Kansas residents to carry a concealed firearm without going through the endless red tape of a permitting process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why Kansas made the law,\u201d said Tapley. \u201cSo citizens can carry and protect themselves and others.
