Attorney General Karl A. Racine. <\/p>\n<p>However, others argue that the law impinges on the Second Amendment and he right to bear arms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood reason\u201d clauses are prevalent across many states and counties, but the primary issue with having such a requirement is that more often than not, concealed carry applicants are at the whim of local authorities. <\/p>\n<p>The results from \u201cgood reason,\u201d or \u201cmay issue\u201d states and counties, lack consistency, with one application being denied, while another very similar ones gets pushed through. <\/p>\n<p>The argument that D.C.\u2019s concealed carry law is unconstitutional is strong, and hopefully the District, along with other \u201cmay issue\u201d states, will change their stance to \u201cshall issue.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>(<em>This article was a submission form freelance writer Brent Rogers<\/em>)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cOur procedure for issuing gun-carry permits is very similar to laws in New Jersey, New York and Maryland that federal appeals courts have upheld,\u201d said D.C.
