The reason our footprint on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/gunsamerica\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"how-twitter-is-discriminating-against-the-gunsamerica\" title=\"How Twitter is Discriminating Against the Gun Industry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GunsAmerica\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"how-twitter-is-discriminating-against-the-gunsamerica\" title=\"How Twitter is Discriminating Against the Gun Industry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/instagram.com\/gunsamerica_official\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"how-twitter-is-discriminating-against-the-gunsamerica\" title=\"How Twitter is Discriminating Against the Gun Industry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instagram<\/a> isn\u2019t bigger than what it is is because it wasn\u2019t until recently that we started to engage our followers and friends on a regular basis. To some extent, we were late to the social media party (the primary reason for this is we put the majority of our time and attention into crafting our weekly Digest, which you can subscribe to on our <a href=\"\/blog\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"how-twitter-is-discriminating-against-the-gunsamerica\" title=\"How Twitter is Discriminating Against the Gun Industry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">homepage<\/a>). But now that we\u2019re here, we want to grow our audience, just like everybody else.<\/p>\n<p>The problem with trying to grow our audience on Twitter is that they don\u2019t allow gun-friendly businesses to promote their page to find new users who might be interested in following their feed.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_36034\" style=\"width: 860px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Twitter-Policy.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"how-twitter-is-discriminating-against-the-gunsamerica\" title=\"How Twitter is Discriminating Against the Gun Industry\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-36034\" title=\"How Twitter is Discriminating Against the Gun Industry\" class=\"size-full wp-image-36034\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Twitter-Policy.jpg\" alt=\"Twitter does not allow the promotion of &quot;weapons.&quot;  \" width=\"850\" height=\"460\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Twitter-Policy.jpg 850w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Twitter-Policy-150x81.jpg 150w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Twitter-Policy-400x216.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-36034\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Twitter does not allow the promotion of &#8220;weapons.&#8221;<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In other words, GunsAmerica is precluded from participating in the Twitter Ads program because we are associated with \u201cweapons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To quote the policy directly, \u201cTwitter prohibits the promotion of weapons and weapon accessories globally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps it\u2019s just me, but I find it strange that an American company would discriminate against organizations and companies that value and embrace one\u2019s Constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe it\u2019s a bit ironic too in that Twitter has created a space where users can freely exercise their First Amendment rights, particularly as it relates to speech. Yet, Twitter frowns on companies like GunsAmerica that have created a platform and community where users can not only get the tools to exercise their Second Amendment rights, but also gain the knowledge on how to do so safely and responsibly.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_36035\" style=\"width: 651px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Twitter-Policy-2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"how-twitter-is-discriminating-against-the-gunsamerica\" title=\"How Twitter is Discriminating Against the Gun Industry\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-36035\" title=\"How Twitter is Discriminating Against the Gun Industry\" class=\"size-full wp-image-36035\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gunsamerica.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Twitter-Policy-2.jpg\" alt=\"Why does the gun industry always get a raw deal?  \" width=\"641\" height=\"455\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Twitter-Policy-2.jpg 641w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Twitter-Policy-2-150x106.jpg 150w, https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Twitter-Policy-2-400x283.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 641px) 100vw, 641px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-36035\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Why does the gun industry always get a raw deal with the corporate world?<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Humbly, I\u2019d ask the Twitter executives why they are actively discriminating against those who promote the Second Amendment? Why are you inhibiting gun-friendly businesses from reaching users who would value and appreciate our content and identify with our community?<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019d also politely remind them that the Second Amendment is the only safeguard there is to protect the First Amendment and the rest of the Constitution from tyranny.
