Slow clap for the ATF temporarily pulling its proposal to ban a common AR-15 round \u2026 and a side eye for trying to play it off like they were doing us a favor. That’s like a father patting himself on the back for not abandoning his kid. You’re not supposed to.<\/p>\n On the issue of guns, I’m starting to believe the Obama Administration got their anti-gun playbook, from that crazy character Amy from \u201cGone Girl.\u201d They consistently manipulate the public and the conversation on guns in this country, all the while painting Second Amendment advocates as paranoid fear-mongers.<\/p>\n Make no mistake, that so called ammo ban, proposed by the ATF that they’re now shelving is nothing more than a gun ban by another name. It\u2019s semantic drug smuggling if you ask me. Take a kilo of gun ban, wrap it in officer safety Saran wrap and smuggle it in the rental car of common sense gun legislation \u2014 and bingo, you have backdoor gun control. So consider me the Second Amendment K-9 unit who pulls the car over and busts their gun control smuggling operation.<\/p>\n If you’re still floating on the whole Obama doesn’t want to ban guns cloud of naivety, think about it like this. When you get locked out of your house, what’s the first thing you think to do \u2014 try the back door.<\/p>\n It takes nothing more than a two-second Google search to hear quotes of President Obama wanting to ban all AR-15s. And because his administration couldn’t get that ban through the front door of Congress, they tried to get it through the back door with this ammo ban.<\/p>\n It doesn’t take a Ph.D. in economics to understand how banning a popular round of ammunition makes whatever gun you own that shoots that round completely useless. Banning the round causes people to panic buy, driving the price of that remaining ammo through the roof, making it wholly unaffordable, turning your gun that\u00b9s designed to shoot that round into nothing more than a fancy club.<\/p>\n But for some reason, gun owners were acting like this ammo ban was no big deal. Like we live in the Willy Wonka land of unlimited ammo and I if they ban this one type of ammo they\u00b9ll replace it with another to compensate for our loss. Anti-gunners aren’t interested in negotiation, they\u00b9ve stated multiple times that if they could, they\u00b9d ban it all. If you think this temporary victory is the last we’re going to hear of an ammo ban, I have a gun-free zone utopia I want to sell you.<\/p>\n Think about it. The only reason they resorted to this backdoor ammo ban crap is because when they were more blatant about their anti-gun fetish and overall hatred of the Second Amendment, gun owners around the country stepped up and did something about it. They supported the fight, they led the charge and we actually gave a damn.<\/p>\n So don’t be lulled into complacency because they’ve gone back to the drawing board on this ridiculous ammo ban proposal. Cause that’s all they’re doing, going back to the drawing board.<\/p>\n I can’t begin to stress how dangerous of a precedent this ammo ban would set if it happens. At that point, all ammo is fair game \u2014 just come up with some impotent commonsense reason, some crafty language and boom, you’re left holding your gun making pew-pew noises to defend yourself with because you thought the ammo ban was no longer something to worry about \u2026 and now you don\u00b9t have any ammo.<\/p>\n I don’t know about you, but I’m sick and tired of being jerked around by opportunistic politicians and government agency’s looking for some futile reason to limit the Second Amendment.
