Officers found a 20-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The homeowner told <a href=\"https:\/\/cbs6albany.com\/news\/local\/state-police-investigate-south-glens-falls-home-invasion-where-intruder-was-shot\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"south-glens-falls-home-invasion-shooting\" title=\"New York Homeowner Shoots Intruder Inside Family Home\"><em>CBS 6 Albany<\/em><\/a> that the stranger entered while several family members were inside. A male broke in the house and started attacking.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The homeowner said he repeatedly ordered the man to leave. When the stranger refused, the <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/manhunt-ends-when-homeowner-fires-back\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"south-glens-falls-home-invasion-shooting\" title=\"New York Homeowner Shoots Intruder Inside Family Home\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"7819\">homeowner fired<\/a>, striking him in the leg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No one else inside the house was physically harmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The wounded man was transported to Albany Medical Center. Police later identified him as Hunter A. Jarvis of Hudson Falls. Investigators said he entered through an unlocked door without using force. He told <em>CBS 6 <\/em>that Jarvis still had his whole life ahead of him and had apparently made several bad decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is a remarkably measured response from someone who had just confronted a stranger inside his family\u2019s home before dawn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The case also illustrates how quickly an ordinary morning can become a life-threatening emergency.
