The design redirects gas upward to help control muzzle rise and keep the pistol flatter during rapid strings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-new-lightforged-grip-texture\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">New LightForged Grip Texture<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the biggest changes is Springfield\u2019s new LightForged grip treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Springfield uses precision lasers to sculpt and reform the grip module\u2019s surface. The process produces a texture similar to custom stippling, but with repeatable geometry and placement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Echelon Pro introduces Springfield\u2019s aggressive Badlands pattern. The magwell is removable, allowing shooters to use flush-fitting magazines when they want a slimmer profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other standard upgrades include a stainless steel guide rod and a tritium front sight surrounded by an orange luminescent ring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-echelon-modularity-remains\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Echelon Modularity Remains<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Springfield retained the features that helped distinguish the original Echelon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The serialized Central Operating Group can be removed and installed in compatible grip modules. This gives owners the ability to change frame sizes and colors without purchasing another serialized firearm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Variable Interface System also returns. It allows many popular pistol optics to mount directly to the slide without relying on a conventional adapter plate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Combined with fully ambidextrous controls, the system remains suitable for both right-handed and left-handed shooters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAt its launch, the Echelon quickly established itself as a premier 9mm duty pistol with cutting-edge performance and a highly modular design,\u201d said Steve Kramer, Springfield Armory\u2019s vice president of marketing. \u201cThe new Echelon Pro takes that solid foundation and adds a wide range of performance-oriented enhancements.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Echelon Pro Comp lineup gives shooters three size options without changing the price.
