The alert identified a stolen white Volkswagen sedan near Blanding Boulevard and Camp Francis Johnson Road in Orange Park, Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deputies moved into the area and located the car. Investigators say he ran through several backyards before entering a detached garage on Grafton Drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The homeowner and his wife were home at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/streamlight-protac-rail-mount-vir-pro-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"florida-homeowner-shoots-suspect-garage\" title=\"Florida Homeowner Shoots Wanted Suspect Who Hid in Garage\">Streamlight VIR Pro Review: IR Power for $248<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Sheriff Michelle Cook, the homeowner confronted White and shot him once in the leg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe homeowner of the house intervened and actually shot the suspect who had entered his detached garage,\u201d Cook said during a press conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deputies provided medical aid before White was taken to a hospital. Detectives were still interviewing the homeowner and investigating exactly what happened inside or near the garage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI just met with the homeowner and his wife who were both at home when this happened,\u201d Cook added. \u201cIt\u2019s not something that you want to do, but they were prepared.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A neighbor also supported the homeowner\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf they stole a car and he ran in my house, I\u2019d shoot him too,\u201d Anita Jones told <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"florida-homeowner-shoots-suspect-garage\" title=\"Florida Homeowner Shoots Wanted Suspect Who Hid in Garage\">Action News Jax.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-charges-filed-against-white\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Charges Filed Against White<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cook initially said White had two outstanding warrants. One was reportedly for grand theft, while the other was believed to be an out-of-state armed robbery warrant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jail records later listed new charges against White stemming from Monday\u2019s incident. Trouble came directly onto his property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The investigation into the shooting remained active.
