It tends to go from zero to DEFCON 1 faster than a panic-buy on election night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s exactly what happened this week after longtime Staccato dealer Shooters Choice <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Db4MT8Ctkq6\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"staccatos-dealer-shakeup-sparks-firestorm\" title=\"Staccato's Dealer Shakeup Sparks Firestorm\">announced<\/a> it had been dropped from the company&#8217;s authorized dealer network. The internet certainly treated it like one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-staccato-says-that-s-not-true\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Staccato Says That&#8217;s Not True<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Staccato responded with a video from co-CEO Buck Pierson addressing the controversy head-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pierson confirmed the company is reducing the size of its dealer network, but said the changes are intended to invest more resources into core dealers and improve the customer experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also directly addressed the two claims generating the most outrage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All of our <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/top-five-newer-guns-i-recommend-you-try\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"staccatos-dealer-shakeup-sparks-firestorm\" title=\"Staccato's Dealer Shakeup Sparks Firestorm\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"7444\">new firearms and our CPO guns<\/a> have always had a lifetime warranty and will always have a lifetime warranty. The company argued the real issue wasn&#8217;t warranty coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was the abrupt end to a two-decade business relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the dealer, it went 10 days without receiving clarification after being dropped and believes the partnership was terminated with little communication or notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That point has found support from some others in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@BenStoeger187\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"staccatos-dealer-shakeup-sparks-firestorm\" title=\"Staccato's Dealer Shakeup Sparks Firestorm\">Ben Stoeger<\/a>, who generally took a measured approach to the controversy (see video above), noted that the warranty rumors weren&#8217;t accurate but said people remain frustrated over dealers being removed from the network and the confusion surrounding the rollout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@VSO_Gun_Channel\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"staccatos-dealer-shakeup-sparks-firestorm\" title=\"Staccato's Dealer Shakeup Sparks Firestorm\">VSO<\/a> (see video below) reached a similar conclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While acknowledging the internet exaggerated the warranty story, VSO argued that removing dealers with little notice (and allegedly leaving them holding inventory without a clear transition plan) is simply poor business practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-warranty-debate-isn-t-going-away\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Warranty Debate Isn&#8217;t Going Away<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Staccato Can Go Get Bent || Gun Industry Drama\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lnQ-NFFLl5E?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interestingly, VSO says there&#8217;s another issue that&#8217;s getting overshadowed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even though Staccato says <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/six-new-pistols-hitting-the-market-nra-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"staccatos-dealer-shakeup-sparks-firestorm\" title=\"Staccato's Dealer Shakeup Sparks Firestorm\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"7447\">new pistols<\/a> carry a lifetime warranty, the company&#8217;s warranty policy generally applies to the original purchaser, not every future owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For pistols that routinely sell between $3,000 and $5,000, VSO argues that&#8217;s a legitimate point of criticism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;A lifetime warranty,&#8221; he argues, should follow the firearm.
