one neighbor told <em>Local 10.<\/em> &#8220;It grabbed his neck really good.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The dog&#8217;s owner desperately tried punching and pulling the attacking animal away, but nothing worked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I think he was trying for a little bit even before I got there,&#8221; one neighbor explained, adding that everyone is generally familiar with each other&#8217;s pets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that the shooting likely prevented an even worse outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Protecting the baby, protecting their own dog\u2014it was a scary situation with these two dogs,&#8221; the witness said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-a-difficult-but-necessary-decision\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Difficult but Necessary Decision<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cases involving dangerous dog attacks often force people into split-second decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, witnesses described an aggressive dog that refused to release its grip despite repeated attempts to physically separate the animals.
