Steiner is giving its enclosed-emitter pistol optic an update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company has officially<\/a> unveiled the MPS 2.0, the next generation of its Micro Pistol Sight. It brings a handful of practical improvements while keeping the rugged design that made the original MPS popular with duty users and serious shooters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than reinventing the wheel, Steiner focused on refining the details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the biggest changes is battery life. The MPS 2.0 now delivers more than 90,000 hours of runtime on a CR2032 battery at Level 4 brightness, with over 27,000 hours at Level 5. Shooters can also enable a 13-hour auto-off mode to squeeze even more life out of the battery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steiner also addressed something every red dot owner eventually deals with: changing batteries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new optic<\/a> features a magnetic battery cover that holds the battery in place during installation. It makes swaps a little less frustrating whether you’re at the range or working<\/a> off the tailgate of your truck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The controls also got an overhaul. Larger brightness buttons are easier to find and use with gloves. And a new button lockout feature prevents accidental brightness changes by locking the controls with a five-second press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like its predecessor, the MPS 2.0 uses an enclosed emitter<\/a>, a design many shooters prefer because it keeps rain, mud, lint and debris away from the emitter. It’s housed in a reinforced metal body with a recessed viewing window and is rated waterproof to 35 meters. Steiner says it’s built to operate in temperatures ranging from -40\u00b0F to 140\u00b0F.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The optic uses the increasingly common ACRO<\/a> footprint, making it compatible with many optics-ready pistols and mounting systems already on the market. Steiner also says it’s equally at home on defensive carbines, SBRs and shotguns for shooters<\/a> who want one optic across multiple platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MPS 2.0 features a 3.3 MOA red dot, true 1x magnification and an 21×16 mm viewing window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It weighs just 2.32 ounces and offers 90 MOA of both windage and elevation adjustment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new optic carries an MSRP of $631.99 and is backed by Steiner’s Heritage Warranty, which provides lifetime coverage without requiring a receipt or product registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For shooters who liked the original MPS but wished for a little more battery life and a few quality-of-life improvements, the MPS 2.0 looks like a thoughtful evolution rather than a complete redesign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
