Not right, says GOA. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The case took another turn when GOA submitted evidence involving one of its members who filed a Form 1 application with the ATF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the application, the member answered the question asking why he wanted to manufacture an <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/legally-buy-machine-guns-silencers-short-barrels-understand-the-nfa\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"goa-doj-doxxing-investigation\" title=\"GOA Blasts DOJ After Refusal to Probe Alleged Doxxing of Gun Owner\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"7258\">NFA firearm<\/a> with: &#8220;To exercise my God-given rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOA says the ATF rejected the application, contradicting the Justice Department&#8217;s claim that the NFA approval process is essentially a &#8220;shall issue&#8221; system that places only a modest burden on <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/five-high-profile-gun-owners-im-disowning\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"goa-doj-doxxing-investigation\" title=\"GOA Blasts DOJ After Refusal to Probe Alleged Doxxing of Gun Owner\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"7260\">gun owners<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-see-also-prodigy-coa-tested-100-yards-zero-malfunctions\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/springfield-prodigy-coa-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"goa-doj-doxxing-investigation\" title=\"GOA Blasts DOJ After Refusal to Probe Alleged Doxxing of Gun Owner\">Prodigy COA Tested: 100 Yards, Zero Malfunctions<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>But according to GOA, the bigger problem came later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The organization says attorneys representing the DOJ and ATF filed that same Form 1 into the public court record without properly redacting the member&#8217;s personal information. GOA says the filing included the member&#8217;s name, city and state, and another filing identified how many NFA firearms he owned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOA contends that Form 1 applications are tax documents protected from <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/smith-wesson-files-suit-in-hawaii-for-public-records-disclosures\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"goa-doj-doxxing-investigation\" title=\"GOA Blasts DOJ After Refusal to Probe Alleged Doxxing of Gun Owner\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"7259\">public disclosure<\/a> and says the agencies even repeated the mistake after attempting to fix the redactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the incident, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunowners.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"goa-doj-doxxing-investigation\" title=\"GOA Blasts DOJ After Refusal to Probe Alleged Doxxing of Gun Owner\">GOA<\/a> Senior Vice President Erich Pratt asked the DOJ&#8217;s Office of Inspector General to investigate what the organization called an unlawful disclosure of private taxpayer information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to GOA, that request ultimately landed with the DOJ&#8217;s Office of Professional Responsibility, which declined to open an investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The office reportedly said its policy is generally not to <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/chicago-police-investigating-alleged-self-defense-shooting-that-left-three-dead\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"goa-doj-doxxing-investigation\" title=\"GOA Blasts DOJ After Refusal to Probe Alleged Doxxing of Gun Owner\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"7262\">investigate allegations<\/a> that could still be addressed during ongoing litigation unless a court has first made a finding of misconduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOA sharply criticized that response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;If the goal was to prove that the Department of Justice doesn&#8217;t care about privacy or accountability, they&#8217;ve massively succeeded in that,&#8221; the group&#8217;s video states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The underlying lawsuit challenging the NFA registration requirements is still working its way through <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/federal-appeals-court-puts-the-brakes-on-d-c-s-concealed-carry-permit-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\"
