Tight security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But according to our friend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrcolionnoir.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"taylor-swift-wedding-security-gun-control\" title=\"Taylor Swift's Wedding Exposes a Gun Control Double Standard\">Colion Noir,<\/a> the real story isn&#8217;t who&#8217;s getting married. He argues the spectacle highlights what he sees as one of the biggest contradictions in the gun control debate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s not about Taylor,&#8221; Noir says. &#8220;It&#8217;s about the system.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Noir, who jokingly admits he&#8217;s &#8220;low-key a Swifty&#8221; from the <em>1989<\/em> era, makes it clear he isn&#8217;t criticizing Swift for hiring security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;If you can afford 70 detectives at your wedding, do your thing,&#8221; he says. &#8220;I&#8217;ve never hated on anybody&#8217;s success.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His issue is what comes next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to reports, Madison Square Garden was surrounded by police officers, detectives, street closures, rooftop snipers and multiple security checkpoints for the wedding festivities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-see-also-s-amp-w-396-night-guard-review\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/sw-396-night-guard-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"taylor-swift-wedding-security-gun-control\" title=\"Taylor Swift's Wedding Exposes a Gun Control Double Standard\">S&amp;W 396 Night Guard Review<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Noir reminds viewers that Swift has previously supported gun control measures following the Parkland school shooting, including publicly backing <a href=\"https:\/\/marchforourlives.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"taylor-swift-wedding-security-gun-control\" title=\"Taylor Swift's Wedding Exposes a Gun Control Double Standard\">March for Our Lives <\/a>and calling for &#8220;gun reform.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s where the contradiction begins.  The same people advocating for stricter gun laws often rely on heavily armed security when their own safety is on the line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Good guys with guns,&#8221; he says. &#8220;The exact phrase these folks roll their eyes at.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bigger point, though, isn&#8217;t about celebrities.  It&#8217;s about ordinary people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While celebrities can surround themselves with armed protection, the average <a href=\"https:\/\/gunsamerica.com\/digest\/new-yorker-video-the-ravaging-infection-of-american-guns\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"taylor-swift-wedding-security-gun-control\" title=\"Taylor Swift's Wedding Exposes a Gun Control Double Standard\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"7190\">New Yorker<\/a> cannot simply request dozens of police officers (or even one officer) to stand guard outside their home after receiving credible threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As he puts it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Taylor Swift snaps her fingers and gets a fortress. High-profile public figures often face unique threats that require extensive planning by both private security and law enforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, the principle remains the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If armed security is considered the appropriate response for those facing danger, why shouldn&#8217;t regular citizens have meaningful access to the same ability to defend themselves?  Shouldn&#8217;t everyone be allowed to freely exercise their 2A rights?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obviously, that ain&#8217;t a question for us.
