The company just unveiled the Cronus ATS P-MINI 250S, an ultra-compact thermal monocular that packs plenty of capability into a pocket-sized package. At an MSRP of $499.99, it’s aimed at hunters, landowners, and anyone who wants dependable thermal performance<\/a> without spending thousands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite its small size, the P-MINI 250S offers enough horsepower to spot heat signatures out to 550 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At its core is a 256\u00d7192, 12\u03bcm thermal sensor with a NETD below 30mK, giving users a cleaner image and better target separation when conditions aren’t ideal. That extra sensitivity helps reveal animals hiding in brush or blend into warm nighttime backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viewing happens through a 1.43-inch OLED touchscreen, making menu navigation simple with tap-and-swipe controls instead of traditional buttons. Users can also choose from seven different color palettes, including White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, Iron Red, Blue Hot, Green Hot, and Sepia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Athlon also packed in plenty of modern features. Built-in Wi-Fi connects to the free Athlon app for both iOS and Android, allowing users to livestream, record video with audio, snap photos, and transfer files wirelessly. The unit also includes 32GB of internal storage, so you don’t need a phone connected to save footage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another handy feature is automatic hotspot tracking, which identifies the hottest object in the field of view, a useful tool when scanning fields or timber after dark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Battery life is rated at up to six hours on the internal rechargeable battery, and charging is handled through USB-C. Users can also connect an external battery pack for longer hunts<\/a> or extended observation sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Built for the outdoors, the P-MINI 250S carries an IP66 rating, making it dust-tight, resistant to heavy water spray, fog-proof, and shockproof. Even with all that capability, it tips the scales at just 7.23 ounces, making it easy to stash in a pocket, bino harness<\/a>, or backpack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
