A lot of pro-gun websites post DGU (defensive gun use) videos. And I think it’s great that we do because the truth is always messy, chaotic and in many cases emotional when we see it. It’s not like the movies. It’s a reminder that one can never be trained enough or prepared enough to deal with real time, deadly force situations. <\/p>\n
Case in point, footage of a deadly shooting at a smoke shop in Albuquerque, New Mexico, that left an alleged armed robber dead and the victims emotionally distraught. <\/p>\n
William Corrie, the suspect who was fatally wounded, went into the store and robbed it at gun point. He tied up the employees with duct tape and walked away with some cash. But for reasons that are not quite clear, Corrie reentered the smoke shop. That’s when one of the victims, who freed himself from bondage, shot and killed Corrie. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhat did I do?\u201d says the employee in the immediate aftermath of the shooting, as the gravity of the situation weighs on him.<\/p>\n
Later on, when speaking with investigators, the employee realized that he had no other choice but to use the firearm in self-defense. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe second I saw him come back in, I just, I did what I had to do,\u201d the employee says to police. <\/p>\n
