This past Saturday a teen mob began attacking people at random at a Kroger supermarket in Memphis, Tennessee, local media reports. <\/p>\n

At least three people were injured in the “knockout game” style assault, including two young Kroger employees who were trying to quell the violence. <\/p>\n

Police have arrested several teens in connection with the incident, charging them with aggravated assault and aggravated riot, though it’s believed that more than 100 participated in the attacks that occurred around 9:30 p.m. <\/p>\n

“It is extremely troubling to see how many young people were involved, especially on the heels of last week’s youth forum,” Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong said in a statement.<\/p>\n

“A lot of our citizens are working to provide safe and productive alternatives for our youth,” Armstrong continued. “For those that choose not to take advantage of these opportunities, we will work tirelessly to identify, locate and hold you accountable.”<\/p>\n

The Kroger Company has been in the news recently for its permissive policy with respect to firearms. Moms Demand Action is pressuring<\/a> the retail food chain corporation to adopt a policy that prohibits the carry of firearms inside store locations. Thus far, Kroger has not capitulated, opting to keep its current policy in place, one that respect local and state laws. <\/p>\n

It goes without saying, but these rambunctious teens were lucky that there were no armed patrons on the premises or if there were armed patrons on the premises, they choose not to engage the youths. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
