And, for the first time, the NRA&#8217;s top dog commented on the digital spots that were released via the Internet on Aug. 25.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis campaign is a gathering of shared values that gives a sense of right and wrong,\u201d NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2014\/sep\/4\/nra-ad-campaign-goes-beyond-gun-rights-reaches-out\/?page=2\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"lapierre-nra-ad-campaign-gives-sense-right-wrong\" title=\"LaPierre on NRA ad campaign: 'Gives sense of right and wrong'\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Washington Times<\/a> in an interview. LaPierre added that the impetus for the videos came from traveling the country and talking with individuals who &#8220;believe our country is off the rails.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re worried the character of the country is at risk.
