(Photo: Facebook)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Investigators say that 44-year-old Chris Heben of Medina is not telling the whole truth about the incident that occurred back in March.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have overwhelming evidence based upon video, cell phone records and interviews that the shooting did not occur in the West Market Plaza and that Mr. Heben made false allegations to us,&#8221; Bath Township Police Chief Mike McNeely told local news affiliate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnet5.com\/news\/local-news\/oh-summit\/bath-twp-police-former-navy-seal-chris-heben-lied-about-getting-shot-at-west-market-plaza\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"clickTracking\" campaign=\"navy-seal-tells-tall-tale-attack\" title=\"Navy SEAL tells tall tale about attack?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC 5<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Heben was indeed suffering from a gunshot wound, but authorities question just exactly where it happened, how it happened and why it happened.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s only something he can answer,&#8221; McNeely said.<\/p>\n<p>Since they believe he&#8217;s prevaricating, police have charged Heben with misdemeanor counts of falsification and obstructing official business.
